Amy Grant vs. The Church - A Come to Jesus Moment!

Many Christians are questioning musician Amy Grant's endorsement of the LGBTQ lifestyle.

Discussion points:
Can a Bible believing church embrace the gay lifestyle in our leadership when it is counter to God's Word? Some Christians believe a Gay Christianity theology is acceptable, but, is that a Biblically based teaching? God created us male and female with no gender exceptions, so no, it is not a Biblically supported lifestyle. As Christians we are not to edify or glorify a lifestyle that is counter to God's Word. 

We should accept those who do not know Christ with kindness, patience and compassion. We are to live in the world and not be participants of the world so we give hope and a light to a different way of living.

We will be rejected by the those who do not want to change, but there are some who are slaves to their sin and are looking for a new life in Christ. Those few will only walk across the bridge to salvation without church that is angry and condemns them for their self-destructive choices. The same holds true for those who had abortions in the past or are considering abortion today. Their is hope for a new life and forgiveness of our past sins in accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Remember, we once made a decision to come to Christ by surrendering our old lifestyles. We laid our self-centered "My Way" at the foot of the Cross to accept a New Life with our sins washed away by the Blood of Jesus. The promise of our salvation is for now and for eternity. By our decision to accept Jesus as the Son of God who came to take away the sins of the world we are a New Creation, Born Again! The "I am my own truth", god like desires were laid at the feet of Jesus as we willingly took on a new life and relationship with Him as Lord.

The new Tree of Life Bible  is a new translation. Here is how a well known scripture reads when translated from Hebrew to English without the Greek sentence structure.

John 3:16-21: Jesus speaking:
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not condemned; but whoever does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not put his trust in the name of the one and only Ben-Elohim . “Now this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world and men loved the darkness instead of the light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed. Romans 1:18:32 Is a bit more direct in clarifying God's Word on the LGBTQ issue:

'They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image in the form of mortal man and birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. In unrighteousness they suppress the truth, because what can be known about God is plain to them—for God has shown it to them. His invisible attributes—His eternal power and His divine nature—have been clearly seen ever since the creation of the world, being understood through the things that have been made. So people are without excuse— for even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. Instead, their thinking became futile, and their senseless hearts were made dark. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. Therefore God gave them over in the evil desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor their bodies with one another. They traded the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to shameful passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for what is against nature. Likewise the men abandoned natural relations with women and were burning with passion toward one another—men committing shameful acts with other men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. If you are connected to a church that is embracing the world's social standard in their leadership, you should search for a new church. The false teaching of a gay Christianity could provide a wonderful social community, filled with acceptance for all lifestyles without correction. It may be a community with good music and life lessons, however, the leadership of that church will eventually answer to God for leading people down this self-destructive path.
